Ok, patchwork: I *almost* promised not to make too much baby stuff but I just love making things for the little owlet. Here´s my very first patchwork blanket coming along and I tell you, it was
not easy at all to find
colorful fabric in my fabric stash. On the other hand, a baby blanket from black velvet and the like would be pretty innovative:-D! The color range goes from dark red corduroy to green cherry print to golden/

creme white print. This sounds hideous. I´ve had those fabrics for almost 20 years now, carrying them around and stashing them away when I was on the move. Better do something useful with them now, better now than never! I joined them to rows first after painstakingly sewing the hexagons together. I wouldn`t have made a good settler wife. so much for sure. Trying to sew the rows together proved to be a pain since it came out of the sewing machine all wrinkled which meant I had to undo the stuff and sew it together by hand (the horror!). So, I´m still in the process of sewing the rows together BY HAND (gasp) in the evening, half asleep but determined (double gasp) before taking it to the machine for a final round of extra stability.
What I have now (4 joined rows in total) looks pretty wicked good and will be worth another load of pics and a separate post.
